Since then, this festival is celebrated by establishing Lord Raghunath, the kingdom of Kullu as the main deity. During this time, all the deities of the surrounding areas also come to the Dhalpur Maidan and meet Lord Raghunath, which is celebrated as the deity meeting. In such a situation, it takes the form of a big “Dev Mahakumbh”.

This is how Kullu Dussehra started

According to beliefs, Kullu Dussehra began in the 17th century during the reign of Raja Jagat Singh, when he brought the idol of Lord Raghunath ji from Ayodhya to get rid of the defect of the Brahmana after the death of a Brahmin and installed him in the Raghunath temple in Kullu. After this incident, the king handed over his property to Lord Raghunath and started the tradition of Dussehra in Kullu in the year 1660 in honor of Shri Raghunath ji, which continues even today.
