Actor Arhaan Khan has spoken about the recent controversy involving his Bigg Boss 13 co-contestants Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurrana, urging people not to draw conclusions about their past relationship without knowing the complete context.
During an exclusive conversation with IANS, Arhaan was asked about claims surrounding an alleged attempt by Asim to convert Himanshi during their relationship.
Arhaan said he had not spoken to either of them about the matter and therefore did not know what actually transpired.
“I don’t know who tried to convert whom because I haven’t spoken to Asim or Himanshi about this,” he said.
He added that the issue should not be discussed without understanding the circumstances in which the comments were made.
“We should not talk about such things because we don’t know what actually happened. Himanshi said something in a different context on the podcast, which she later clarified. I don’t think Asim can say such a thing,” Arhaan said.
Asked whether he believed Asim was capable of pressuring Himanshi to convert, Arhaan said he found the claim difficult to believe based on his personal knowledge of Asim.
“I don’t think Asim can do such a thing. If you tell me that Asim slapped someone, I will believe it. If you tell me that Asim abused someone, I will believe it. But if you tell me that Asim did such a thing, it is very hard to believe because I know him, and he is not a person who has such a small mind,” he said.
Arhaan also appealed to people not to sensationalise the matter, saying, “Don’t spread this thing by unnecessarily adding masala to it. Whoever is doing all this, please end this issue.”
Asim and Himanshi began their relationship during their stint on Bigg Boss 13. The couple dated for around four years before announcing their separation in December 2023.
Himanshi later discussed their breakup during a podcast and said religious differences had played a significant role in the decision. She spoke about conversations with Asim regarding his religious beliefs and said she was uncomfortable with expectations that she understand and accept them.
Asim subsequently denied that he had pressured Himanshi to convert and criticised the public discussion of their private relationship.
Himanshi later clarified that she had not said she was forced to convert and maintained that her comments had been misrepresented.
