Heavy Rain Alert: The state continues to have heavy rains in the state due to the deep pressure of the low pressure made in the Bay of Bengal and moving towards Odisha. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in all 30 districts of Odisha.
Heavy Rain Alert: The low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is now slowly turning into a deep pressure area and it is moving towards the Odisha coast. For this reason, on Thursday, many parts of the state received heavy rains. The state government has prepared to deal with the emergency by deploying personnel and machinery in sensitive districts. Since Wednesday, coastal and southern districts have been receiving continuous rains. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in all 30 districts of Odisha.
Yellow alert issued for 14 districts
IMD said that there was a deep pressure in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday night, which is moving towards the coast at a speed of about 17 km per hour. At present, it is concentrated around Gopalpur, Kalingapatnam, Puri, Visakhapatnam and Paradip. According to meteorological experts, deep pressure usually receives strong wind and too much rainfall. The National Meteorological Agency has issued a red alert for Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts, Orange alert for 14 districts and Yellow alert for the remaining 14 districts. Puri and other coastal areas may receive more than 20 cm of rainfall.

Warning given to fishermen
Fishermen have been warned not to go to the sea near the Odisha coast by 3 October. According to IMD, due to deep pressure, stormy air can move in the Bay of Bengal, the speed of which can increase from 40–50 kilometers per hour to 75 kilometers per hour. It is advisable to install local warning signal number three at all ports of the state.
