A female Muslim MP from Australia has made serious allegations against her colleague. He says he was asked to drink alcohol during a program. At the same time, it was said inappropriate.
It is reported that he has filed a complaint with the Parliamentary Committee in this regard. Australian Parliament has also reported cases like sexual harassment earlier.
Senator Fatima Pameman has filed a complaint in this regard on Wednesday. He has alleged that a male colleague asked him to drink alcohol and dance on the table. The senator says she does not consume alcohol. He also claimed that the colleague made such improper remarks after taking several drinks.
Payman says that the colleague said, “Let’s give you some alcohol and see you dancing on the table.” He said, ‘I told this colleague that there is a limit. And after this I filed a formal complaint. However, it is not yet clear who was the incident and who was a colleague to make inappropriate comments.
Such incidents happened earlier
Former political staff Britin Higins alleged in 2021 that he was raped by a colleague in the parliamentary office. Later reviews revealed that incidents of drinking, harassing and sexual harassment were common in the Australian Parliament.
