The new twist in the lawsuit filed by former JP Morgan banker Chirayu Rana has completely shaken the banking world. Statements of two secret witnesses have now also been included in this serious case, which has been presented again in the Manhattan Supreme Court.
Rana has made serious allegations against his senior colleague Lorna Hajdini, not only of sexual exploitation but also of giving drugs and making racial remarks. However, both the bank and the accused woman have completely rejected these claims.
An anonymous witness claimed to have seen Hajdini completely naked in Rana’s apartment. According to the witness, Hajdini had also invited him to come to the bed with her. When the witness refused, Hajdini allegedly said that he owned Rana and he must join. After this, voices of Rana pleading and pleading to leave from there were heard from inside the room. This testimony complicates the case.

The second witness told the court that Chirayu Rana had already shared that his life was being made hell by a woman in the office. This witness had also seen Lorna Hajdini coming close to Rana in public and making him uncomfortable by forcibly kissing him. Rana claims that due to this prolonged and severe harassment, he has developed mental illness like PTSD. He has also attached a letter from his counselor in the court which confirms his treatment.
Bank and Hajdini’s stance
JPMorgan Chase has completely rejected these allegations and said that no evidence has been found in its internal investigation. The bank says that many employees cooperated during the investigation but Chirayu Rana himself did not participate in it nor presented any concrete facts. Hajdini’s lawyers also clarified that there was never any personal or sexual relationship between her and Rana. He has described these claims as a blatant lie fabricated to tarnish Hajdini’s image.
Chirayu Rana surrounded in controversies
A new controversy was added to this matter when a recent report by the New York Post accused Rana of misleading the bank. According to the report, Rana had given false information to the bank about his father’s death in order to take leave to prepare the case. Apart from this, it is also discussed that he had taken the help of AI chatbot for legal questions related to rape. These revelations have now raised many big questions on Rana’s own credibility and the claims made by him.
Waiting for the court’s decision
At present this matter is pending in the Manhattan Court and both the parties are firmly adamant on their arguments. The bank has declared itself completely innocent citing investigation of its digital records, emails and devices. Whereas Rana has used his fragile mental condition and the statements of new witnesses as his shield.
