Radhika Apte says some filmmakers formed assumptions about her boundaries based on the kind of roles she had taken up earlier in her career.
The actress, who has appeared in Telugu films such as “Rakta Charitra” and “Legend”, has also taken on bold and intimate roles in several films. Her performance in “Parched”, in particular, involved nudity and intimate scenes.
According to Radhika, some filmmakers later began approaching her with scripts assuming she would automatically be comfortable doing similar scenes.
“Some filmmakers started assuming, ‘She’ll do it,’” she said, recalling how certain scripts came her way with nude scenes and explicit romantic sequences.
However, Radhika made it clear that taking up bold roles in the past did not mean she would agree to every intimate scene offered to her.
Radhika has often chosen unconventional roles, but she says each project and every intimate scene has to be evaluated on its own terms.
