In Hinduism, there are a total of 18 Mahapurans, and among these, Shiv Mahapuran is one. Shiv Mahapurana describes stories related to Lord Shiva and mentions mantras related to him.
In Shiv Mahapurana, through an incident, Lord Shiva has mentioned five such sins, by committing which the doors of hell open. According to Shivpuran, those who commit these sins have to face adverse effects. So, let’s know about these five sins mentioned in Shivpuran which you should never commit even by mistake.
Having wrong thoughts
Those who have wrong thoughts in their minds become partners in sin. According to Shivpuran, having wrong thoughts in the mind is a mental sin, and those who always think bad become sinners. Therefore, never bring wrong thoughts into your mind and always think good things. Try to control your mind as much as possible. Doing so prevents bad thoughts from entering the mind.
Speaking wrongly
Those who always fight and speak wrongly commit verbal sins. Often, while fighting, we use many abusive words which hurt the other person’s feelings. According to Shivpuran, those who commit verbal sins always remain unhappy. Therefore, avoid committing verbal sins and always use sweet words. Respect your elders and younger ones. Always try not to hurt anyone’s feelings because of what you say.
Causing physical pain
Causing physical pain to people is also considered a sin. Cutting trees, killing insects and animals, and causing physical pain to humans fall into the category of sin. Those who commit these sins incur physical defects. Therefore, never cause physical pain to anyone and always live with everyone in love.
Slandering people
Often, many people like to slander. In Shivpuran, slandering is not considered right, and those who always criticize and insult ascetics, gurus, and elders are considered partners in sin. Therefore, you should avoid slandering and always praise people.
Doing wrong deeds
We get the fruits based on the work we do. According to Shivpuran, those who do wrong deeds get a place in hell. Those who drink alcohol and steal incur sin. One should avoid doing wrong deeds and always do good deeds so that you can get good results.
