Dussehra School Holidays 2025: Schools across the country have been declared holidays on the occasion of Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. See here the first week’s state wise school holiday list.

Gandhi jayanti school holidays 2025: October has started from holidays for students and teachers from schools across the country. On the occasion of Dussehra, Durga Puja and Gandhi Jayanti, holidays have been declared in schools in many states. Today is Mahanavami on 1 October, Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October, so that children will not only get a chance to celebrate festivals, but they can participate in cultural programs and spend quality time with family and friends. Such small brakes are also very important for the mental health of children. They not only help them focus in studies, but also gives an opportunity to understand and adopt our cultural traditions. However, due to Durga Puja in September, school holidays in many states have started from the last week of September and will run till Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti.

  • Bihar: September 27- October 2- Durga Puja and Navratri
  • Bihar (in some districts): September 27- October 5- Extended Durga Puja and Navratri
  • Delhi: September 29- October 1- Dussehra
  • West Bengal: 24 September- October 6- Durga Puja (Holiday was extended due to floods in some areas)
  • Telangana: 21 September- October 3- Dasrah
  • Maharashtra: October 1- School closed due to heavy rains
  • Assam: Dussehra till 30 September, additional holiday on 2 October
  • Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal): 3 days- Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti

The holidays in schools are not limited to celebrating just festivals. She also gives children a chance to take a break from studies, spend time with family and have fun with their friends in a happy environment.
