Traders do adulteration in potato
Actually, traders are adulterating potatoes because the peel of old potato is very thick and after keeping it for a long time, sprouts start coming out. In such a situation, their rate also falls in the market. Now to avoid this, traders use light sulfuric acid solution. This causes sprouts and upper cells to burn, the peel becomes thin. Also, it starts to look shiny and new. This method is very fast and cheap, that’s why some traders are usually adopting it.
What is sulfuric acid?
Food safety experts say that the process that is being used to make potatoes like new is against food security and health rules. Because the sulfuric acid that is being used to make potatoes new is the chemical used in laboratories and industry, which is not fitable. In such a situation, if you consume potatoes filled with this chemical, then they can harm the body. This can cause stomach irritation, vomiting, diarrhea and allergies to the skin.
How to identify new potatoes
If you are buying potatoes from the market, then you can identify chemical potatoes by taking care of some things. Like potato peeling looks very shiny or smooth. Light black spots on potatoes. Light -dirt like acid in potato or light foam came out while washing the potato. If these signs are seen in potatoes, then your potato can be chemical.
