A woman posted on LinkedIn how a comment by a Zomato delivery rider made her feel unsafe late at night. What thing did Anya Vig order late at night, after which she felt uncomfortable? Which comment by the delivery person made Anya feel unsafe?
Zomato Controversy: A woman’s post on a strange experience she had during a late night food delivery has sparked a major online debate about personal boundaries and safety. LinkedIn user Anya Vig shared her story of a Zomato delivery rider, which garnered attention from many people, especially women, who said that they too have faced similar situations.
In her post, Anya explained how a simple order from a delivery person made an uncomfortable experience for her. He expressed concern about how much personal information was visible to delivery people and this incident made him feel very uncomfortable.
Anya told that she had ordered paan after dinner at around 11 pm. When the delivery person arrived, she went out of the house alone to pick him up. He told that the rider first asked whether he was the one who had ordered it. During this time she remained silent and did not answer.
According to him, the rider made the matter more awkward by saying that she was a woman and was ordering paan at this age. This comment did not suit him at all. “My experience with a Zomato rider last night was very awkward and made me feel very unsafe,” he wrote.
Following this incident, Anya raised questions as to why delivery partners have the right to see and comment on what someone has ordered. In his opinion, such comments are wrong and amount to crossing limits. “What right does your delivery guy have to see or comment on what I ordered? He’s acting like he has the right to tell me what I should and shouldn’t order,” she wrote.
She also said that she was hesitant to report the incident because the rider knew her address. He feared that complaining might have an impact on his personal safety.
