He has netted 18 goals in as many games he has played for Javier Mascherano’s side, underlining his remarkable consistency and match-winning influence. He struck twice in the second half, displaying his trademark calmness and skill in front of goal. In the 60th minute, he received a pass from Sergio Busquets and left Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel on the ground as he scored a stunning goal to put Inter Miami ahead.
Messi didn’t stop there. Just 15 minutes later, he received a cross from Luis Suarez inside the box, took the ball on his chest with exquisite control, and fired it past Coronel to seal a dominant victory for his team. The precision and power in his finish left the opposition with no chance.
