Before the UP Panchayat elections, the Yogi government is going to do big work in the gram panchayats. To achieve the objectives of increasing the greenery of the state, every gram panchayats will have a green chaupal on the third Friday of every month.
On this day, in the event of a state holiday, there will be a meeting of Green Chaupal the next day. The environmental schemes of various departments will also be widely publicized. After this instruction of CM, environment will be protected in every village of the state through Green Chaupal, in which the participation of the common man will also be ensured. With the help of forest environment, Swachh Bharat Mission, Water Jeevan Mission, MNREGA etc., every gram panchayats can be able to achieve environmental goals. The president of Green Chaupal will be the village head. He will operate it. Section/beat officer will be the member secretary and the gram panchayat officer convenor.
Apart from this, three gram panchayat members (minimum one woman), a female representative of self -help groups, Principal of Primary School, Anganwadi Sahayika, Employment Servant, Progressive Farmers, Representative of Local NGOs and representatives of Biodiversity Management Committee will be members of Village Chaupal. Apart from this, representatives of the concerned departments will be special invited members.
Committee will monitor the work
Special publicity (street plays, rally, seminars) etc. will also be organized at the local level towards environmental protection, climate change etc. In the schools of the villages, teachers/students will be made aware about biodiversity, environmental protection, climate change etc. The District Plantation Committee will monitor the works of Green Chaupal.
Green Chaupal will focus on setting up and operation of village Green Nidhi
There will be active participation of Green Chaupal in the deliberation and implementation of Gram Panchayat -wise microplan for plantation. Along with this, plantation and maintenance will be ensured on the vacant land available for Haritima development in the Gram Panchayat. The village Chaupal will discharge the obligations according to the intention of the Government of Chaupal and the District Plantation Committee. The public will also be made aware of the schemes run by various departments regarding mission life, forest, wildlife, humid land, environment, biodiversity conservation, climate change, plantation, carbon credit, alternative energy etc. Along with publicity to control the human-wildlife conflict, there will be a focus on the establishment and operation of the village Green Nidhi.
Green Chaupal will be honored at the state level
Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the details of the works of Green Chaupal will be compiled by the District Panchayat Raj Officer each month. Divisional Forest Officer will do the coordination for the smooth operation of Green Chaupal. Green chaupals doing excellent work will be marked regularly by the District Plantation/Environment Committee, then they will also be honored. The list of Green Chaupals doing commendable work at the district level will be made available to the Environment, Forest-Class Change Department. All such progressive green chaupals will also be honored at the state level.
