The Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy has broadened its reach in North America by inaugurating a new facility in Plainville, Connecticut, in collaboration with Premier Cricket Academy.
This new center represents the third academy established by Delhi Capitals in the United States and the fourth in North America, reinforcing its expanding international network. Premier Cricket Academy, located in Plainville, has dedicated over five years to fostering a youth cricket community in the area. The academy caters to players aged five and older, evolving into a comprehensive cricket program that serves young athletes and families throughout Connecticut and the broader Northeast region.
Partnership Details
This collaboration will introduce Delhi Capitals’ structured coaching curriculum, technical framework, and player development philosophy to the Plainville facility. Participants will benefit from advanced coaching resources, performance-oriented training, coaching exchanges, and broader opportunities within the Delhi Capitals Academy ecosystem.
Premier Cricket Academy has successfully paved the way for young players to advance in the sport, with three to four academy members annually selected for the USA Cricket pathway, representing the academy in zonal and regional competitions. Additionally, the academy is nurturing a growing number of female cricketers, with several competing at national and regional levels.
Cricket’s Rising Popularity in the US
This partnership arrives at a pivotal moment as cricket gains traction in the Northeast United States. With the sport being included in the Olympic program for Los Angeles 2028, the new Delhi Capitals Academy center will serve as an additional platform for young players in Connecticut and surrounding areas to hone their skills and explore opportunities in cricket.

Connecticut boasts a robust youth sports culture, with participation in baseball, lacrosse, field hockey, and more. The Delhi Capitals Academy Connecticut program will allow these athletes to explore cricket while integrating skills such as hand-eye coordination, agility, throwing and striking techniques, footwork, and decision-making into a new sporting context.

With the establishment of the Plainville center, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy now operates 14 facilities across five countries, including seven academies in India and seven international academies in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and Saudi Arabia. This expanding network continues to connect young cricketers across various markets through shared coaching expertise, player development programs, and opportunities for global exposure.
