On the premiere episode of Lock Upp 2, Akanksha revealed that they have been living separately for the past year. It is worth mentioning that the duo was considered one of the most popular couples in the Hindi TV industry. Now, in an interview, Akanksha got candid about her life after divorcing Gaurav.

In a recent interview with SCREEN, Akanksha Chamola reflected on .She explained that for a woman, it is not easy to decide to end a relationship and start their journey from scratch. She shared that after calling it quits with Gaurav, she took the decision to start working again. Earlier, she was homebound for six long years. Akanksha highlighted that she does not have a godfather in the industry; thus, she took baby steps to build her own base.
that it took a lot of time to build that base. The struggle was harder. In fact, there were also financial struggles. Akanksha explained that being a single woman in Mumbai is very difficult. She mentioned that she is reaching out to people who are experienced. Akanksha added that her family has been very supportive. She said:
“The struggle is harder. There are financial struggles. My family is supporting me, but every woman would know the struggle of leaving everything behind and flying solo.”
In the same interview, Akanksha shared that she has found her own place in Mumbai. However, her plans to move in have hit a pause due to certain reasons. She revealed that she had chosen her house before entering the show, Lock Upp 2. She then admitted that finding a place in Mumbai was not difficult for her since her family has lived there for generations.

Further, in the interview, Akanksha Chamola shared her feelings when she announced her divorce from Gaurav Khanna on the show, Lock Upp 2. She mentioned that when she finally revealed the news, there was pin-drop silence. At the time, she was feeling nothing and only felt the urge to break the news instantly. She admitted that there was no other way for her to deal with the situation.
Later, Gaurav Khanna entered the show, Lock Upp 2, and informed Akanksha that she had faced considerable backlash following the divorce announcement. Akanksha shared that this thing scared her and affected her game in Lock Upp 2. She began worrying about her family at that very moment. She said:
“When you get that reality check, it affected my game. After that, my mind was not in the game. I only kept thinking if my family was okay. I kept thinking about why that information was given to me. I wish it hadn’t been shared with me at all. That was a struggle period for me.”
Akanksha also reacted to facing public backlash after she announced her divorce from Gaurav Khanna. Recently, Gaurav’s fellow contestant on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, Orry, slammed Akanksha and shared that he believes she is not a good person. In fact, he also mentioned that he was sure Akanksha would seek alimony from Gaurav.
In the same interview, Akanksha added that she is no longer bothered about the public criticisms. She shared that they are free to criticise her. She then admitted that she has been under public scrutiny for a long time now; thus, nothing bothers her at the moment.
