Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Monday arrested 4 terrorist suspects. The state police said that these people were allegedly planning to create a “Mujahideen Army” and replace Sharia law in place of democracy. According to the police, the ATS had received intelligence that some people in different districts of Uttar Pradesh, who are affected by radical Pakistani organizations, were planning to uproot democratically elected governments in India through violent jihad and implement Sharia law on the strength of weapons. To meet this goal, these people were meeting in different places and participating in many social media groups. They were provoking people through audio chats and videos, and collecting funds to buy weapons and other goods to carry out terrorist incidents. These groups also made a serious plan to target killing of non-Muslim religious leaders soon. “
The ATS has registered an FIR under Section 148/152 BNS in Police Station-ATS, Lucknow. The arrested suspects include Akmal Raza from Sultanpur, Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, Safil Salmani alias Ali Rajvi, Mohammad Tausif, a resident of Ghatampur, Kanpur and Qasim Ali, a resident of Sarai Kadim in Rampur, who is the son of Babbu Shah.

The UP police said, “The Hon’ble Court will be requested for their police custody remand to get complete information about other colleagues and helpers of the accused.” Apart from this, during the operation, the authorities have recovered 5 mobile phones, Aadhaar and PAN cards, ATM debit/credit cards and a phoneP scanner from the accused.
