The final voter list is being released for Bihar election 2025. It will have a total of 7.3 crore voters including 14 lakh new voters. 65 lakh names have been removed from the list. If there is no name, an application can be made from Form-6.

Patna: Preparations for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 have now reached the final round. Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) is going to release the final list of Special Voter Revision – SIR on Tuesday. It is believed that about 7.3 crore voters will be included in this final list, in which about 14 lakh new voters will be added.

65 lakh names removed

The Election Commission said that about 65 lakh names have been removed from the list during the revision process. These include people who have died, who have permanently gone out of the state, or whose names were found to be recorded twice in the voter list. According to the data, 22 lakh voters are no longer alive, 36 lakh people did not meet at their address, while 7 lakh people became permanent residents at new places.

Aadhaar also got recognition

Initially, the Commission validated 11 documents for identity. But on 8 September, the Supreme Court, while giving an important verdict, also recognized the Aadhaar card as an identity card. The court made it clear that Aadhaar is a proof of identity, not citizenship. This will now make the process of adding names to the voter list easier.

What to do if the name is not connected?

The Election Commission has clarified that even if the name of a citizen is not in the final list, he will still get a chance to get his name added. For this, citizens will have to fill Form-6 and submit their area booth level officer (BLO).

Applications can be made through both online and offline mediums.

Applications will be accepted till eight days before the last date of enrollment.

After the application is submitted, it will be made public on the notice board for seven days.

If no objection is registered during this time, the name will be included in the voter list.

Notice to 3 lakh people

The Election Department said that notices have been sent to about 3 lakh voters, as they did not submit the necessary documents. They have been sought a reply within the deadline. If they do not give documents, their names will not be included in the final list.

Emphasis on transparency

The Election Commission has said that emphasis is being laid on making the voter list completely transparent and fair. The names with the deceased, transferred and dual entry will automatically be removed. The Commission has appealed to the citizens to examine their names in time and add Form-6 to join the name, so that they can ensure their participation in the democratic process in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
