This unique practice is seen in the ancient mother Mundeshwari temple in Bihar, where bloodless sacrifice is given. Only rice and flowers are worshiped with prasad. This temple is located on the Pavara hill in Bhagwanpur block of Kaimur district. It is said that this temple is from 625 BC. It is an octagonal temple, where the Mahamandaleshwar Shiva family sits.

Akshat and flowers sprinkle the goat alive

This is the first temple in the country where the unique practice of sacrifice of bloodless goat is prevalent. It is believed that when the desire is fulfilled, the devotees bring a goat for the sacrifice. After duly worship, it is placed at the feet of the Goddess, causing the goat to faint. It is believed that it is a symbol of the fact that the Goddess has accepted the sacrifice. Next, when the priests sprinkle rice and flowers on the goat, the goat is alive and is given to the devotee. After this, devotees take this goat home. Devotees from all over the country and abroad come to this temple to visit the Mother Goddess. The entire Navratri is held here and millions of devotees come to the temple to visit the temple.

Special puja are performed during Navratri

All rituals in Mundeshwari Mata Temple are concluded without any interruption. During Sharadiya and Vasantik Navratri, special worship of Goddess Mundeshwari is performed. After the installation of the urn for nine days, rituals are performed. Nisha Puja is performed on the night of Ashtami. During Sharadiya and Chaitra Navratri, devotees recite Durga Saptashati in the temple. Yajna is performed twice a year, in Magh and Chaitra.

The nearest railway station of Mundeshwari Mata Temple is Mohania (Bhabhua Road). From there you can reach the temple by road. To reach the temple, a road with stairs and railings has been built by cutting the mountain. If you are having inconvenience to use stairs, you can also reach by road by vehicle.
