Trump tarif on movies: US President Donald Trump on Monday announced to impose 100% tariff on all films made outside the US. He claimed that the US film industry was “stolen” by foreign companies. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Other countries have stolen the business of making our film, just as ‘snatching candy from a child’. California, with its weak and unqualified governor, has been the most affected by it!”
Trump wrote, “Therefore, I will put 100% tariff on any and all films made outside the US to solve this long -standing and never ending problem. Thank you for focusing on this matter. Make America Great Again! President DJT.”
Trump imposed 100 percent tariff on medicines on 26 September
The announcement came after Trump’s announcement of 26 September, stating that his administration would impose 100 percent tariffs on branded and patented medicines since October 1, 2025, until companies that make up their production units in the US.

According to the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), India’s pharma exports in FY 24 were a total of $ 27.9 billion, out of which 31 percent, i.e. about 8.7 billion (Rs 77,231 crore) was sent to the US. In the first half of 2025 alone, medicines worth $ 3.7 billion (about Rs 32,505 crore) were sent abroad. Large companies like Dr. Reddy’s, Aurobindo Pharma, Zayadas LifeSyins, Sun Pharma and Gland Pharma get 30-50 percent of their total earnings from the US market.

According to a separate government report, India’s pharma industry is a global powerhouse, according to the volume, in terms of production and 14th in terms of production value. It supplies more than 50 percent vaccine in the world and about 40 percent generic medicines to the US. The industry is estimated to increase to a market of $ 130 billion by 2030 and $ 450 billion by 2047.
