Who was Arjun’s fourth wife?
According to Mahabharata, due to breaking the rules, Arjun once had to go on exile for 12 years alone. During this time, Arjun reached Manipur while travelling. The king here was Chitravahana. They had a daughter named Chitrangada. She was very beautiful and adept in the art of warfare. When Arjun saw Chitrangada, he became attracted towards her. Arjun proposed marriage to King Chitravahana’s daughter. The king also accepted Arjun’s words.

This unique condition kept for marriage?
King Chitravahana did not have any sons, Chitrangada was his only daughter. Before marriage, King Chitravahana placed a condition before Arjun that ‘My daughter will always remain with me and the child born from her will be the heir of my kingdom. She will take over the state of Manipur. Arjun accepted this statement of King Chitravahana and married Chitrangada.
Arjun’s son Babhruvahana became the king of Manipur.
After marriage with Chitrangada, Arjun stayed in Manipur for some time. During this time Chitrangada gave birth to a son, who was named Babhruvahana. But as per the condition, Arjun had to leave his wife and son and go to Hastinapur again. Later Babhruvahana became the king of Manipur.
Battle of Arjuna and Babhruvahana
After the Mahabharata war, when the Pandavas performed Ashwamedha Yagya, Arjun was made its protector. The horse of Yagya wandered and reached Manipur. There Arjun had a fierce battle with his son Babhruvahana, in which Arjun died. Later Arjun’s third wife Ulupi revived Arjun with the help of Nagamani.
