BJP office should be identified by dedication to public service

Narendra Modi said that the relationship between Delhi and BJP is not only of one city and one party, but of service and culture. The BJP is not in power to serve, not to enjoy power. It is the collective responsibility of the party workers to make sure that the new Delhi BJP office is not identified with its facilities, but with dedication to public service.

PM Modi remembers the work done by Jana Sangh

The PM said that the strength that Delhi BJP has today is the result of renunciation and hard work of millions of party workers in the last decades. He also remembered the works done by the Jana Sangh. PM said,

Delhi and BJP do not have a relationship with only one city and one party. This service is of culture. Our party has been associated with Delhi’s heart and its interests in the form of Jana Sangh first and then as BJP. Since the establishment of Jana Sangh, we have served the people of Delhi in every way. Jana Sangh activists arranged for rehabilitation for the victims who came to Delhi after partition.

Jana Sangh fought with people of Delhi

Narendra Modi said, “When the Metropolitan Council was formed, leaders like Advani and VK Malhotra became the voice of the people of Delhi. During the Emergency, the leaders of the Jana Sangh fought against the people of Delhi together with the people of Delhi. During the Sikh riots of 1984, the souls and humanity of Delhi reached a destructive injury.

He said, “Today, in these holy days of Navratri, Delhi BJP has got its new office. My heartfelt congratulations to all the workers of Delhi BJP. BJP has completed 45 years of its establishment. The seed from which the BJP has become such a big banyan tree was sown in October 1951, when Jana Sangh was established under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.”

Ordeal citizens should benefit from GST reforms

PM Modi said that BJP workers should work towards ensuring that GST reforms should benefit common citizens. He said, “It is necessary to raise awareness among consumers as well as our shopkeeper brothers. In the states where we are in opposition, our responsibilities increase even more. We should justify the government to ensure that the benefits of GST cuts reach the public.”

He said, “For example, in Himachal Pradesh, as soon as GST was reduced on cement, the price was immediately increased, which was exploited by the day itself.
