Shri sharda institute case: A sensational case has come to light from Delhi’s prestigious Shri Sharda Institute of Indian Management. The students here have severely accused Swayambhu religious leader Chaitanyanand Saraswati of sexual harassment. Saraswati, who described himself as a religious guru and social worker, is now under police custody. According to police investigation, Saraswati called several students studying in the institute to their quarters at night. It is alleged that he sent unfair messages to the girl students and forced to meet forcibly late at night. It was also revealed that he kept an eye on the activities of the girl students through his mobile phones and cameras.
Who is Chaitanyanand Saraswati?
The real name of the accused is being described as Partha Sarathi. He described himself as a religious leader and a person associated with international organizations. The police found such fake visiting cards from him on which he was written by the Ambassador of the United Nations, a member of the BRICS Commission and a special envoy of India. Through all this, he used to influence the students and people by showing his identity elevated.
Why especially EWs became girls?
According to complaints lodged in the FIR, Saraswati targeted the students of the economically weaker section (EWS). These students used to come in contact with the hope of help and guidance in the institute, but were allegedly exploited.
Full story of absconding and arrest
Saraswati has been escaping from the police only after the case was registered on 4 August. For about two months, he continued to change in Vrindavan, Mathura and Agra. He used to resort to cheap hotels and taxis to avoid arrest. Finally on September 28 at 3:30 am, the police nabbed him from a hotel in Ganj area of Agra.
What was found in the police investigation?
Police recovered three mobile phones, an iPad and fake documents from Saraswati. Apart from this, information has also been received about many of its bank accounts, in which crores of rupees were deposited on the basis of different names and identity. Investigation also revealed that after the FIR was registered, he had withdrawn more than Rs 50 lakh from his accounts. So far, assets of about 8 crore rupees have been confiscated.
Why did the court send police custody?
Patiala House Court of Delhi has sent the accused on 5 days police remand. The police is now questioning her about her female colleagues, who allegedly helped the students to threaten and delete pornographic messages.
