Tourists also stopped their tour of Taj Mahal and started watching this game of monkeys. Many people took out their phones and started recording the scene, which social media users are jokingly calling a ‘pool party’ inside one of India’s most famous historical sites.

Questions raised on security arrangements
However, these videos have also raised questions regarding the security arrangements and wildlife management inside the memorial complex. Many users wondered how the animals gained access to the tank so easily and whether adequate measures had been taken to prevent the monkeys from entering areas frequented by tourists.
Officials have clarified that the structure seen in the video is not the central water tank of the Taj Mahal, as claimed in some social media posts. Instead, it is a ablution tank located between the main mausoleum of the monument and the mosque, where worshipers traditionally wash their hands and face before praying.
Talking about these videos, Taj Mahal Senior Security Assistant Qalandar said that an investigation is underway to find out when this footage was actually recorded. He clarified that officials are investigating the viral clips and ascertaining the circumstances surrounding them.
