Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has found herself in a legal controversy after private charter firm Dunes Aviation filed a ₹3 crore civil defamation suit against her in a Gandhinagar court. The lawsuit stems from comments the actress allegedly made on social media regarding one of the company’s chartered aircraft during a flight last year.
According to a report by PTI, Dunes Aviation accused Fatehi of making “derogatory and reckless” statements after sharing videos taken inside the aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur journey in December. In the videos uploaded to her Instagram account, the actress reportedly referred to the airplane as a “miniature,” a “toy,” and a “Lego airplane.” The matter is scheduled for a hearing before Senior Civil Judge R. Agarwal on September 25.
In its legal filing, the aviation company stated that Fatehi’s comments reached a massive global audience due to her social media following of over 46 million users. Dunes Aviation claims the viral posts caused immediate reputational and commercial damage, asserting that flight bookings dropped by 15 to 20 percent alongside a notable increase in client cancellations following the controversy.
Defending its fleet, Dunes Aviation clarified that the Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft used for the flight was fully certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP). The company characterized Fatehi’s remarks as uninformed, irresponsible, and lacking any technical verification or factual basis.
In addition to seeking ₹3 crore in financial compensation for lost business and damage to goodwill, Dunes Aviation has requested the court to order the immediate removal of all related online content. The firm is also seeking an unconditional public clarification from the actress regarding the incident.
