Nirjala Ekadashi Fast: In Sanatan Dharma, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is considered very important and special. This is considered to be the biggest Ekadashi. This fast is observed every year on the Ekadashi day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. On this day, devotees keep fast for the whole day. Even water is not consumed during this fast. This is the reason why it is called Nirjala fast. The fast is broken on Dwadashi Tithi. According to mythological beliefs, Pandu’s son Bhima had observed a fast on Nirjala Ekadashi.
Usually, devotees of Lord Vishnu wait for Nirjala Ekadashi fast throughout the year. By doing charity on this day, one gets special virtuous results. According to beliefs, by observing fast on Nirjala Ekadashi, the devotee gets the virtuous results of all the Ekadashi fasts observed throughout the year. This year the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on 25 June 2026. Three auspicious yogas are also being formed on this day. Let us know about them in detail.
Nirjala Ekadashi auspicious yoga
This year there is an auspicious coincidence of Thursday on Nirjala Ekadashi. Since Thursday is considered to be the day of Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world, the importance of this fast has increased manifold. Along with this, Swati Nakshatra and Shiva Yoga will be formed on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi. Siddha Yoga will also be present on this day. Not only this, Lakshmi Narayan Yoga will be formed due to the conjunction of Venus and Mercury in Cancer. This yoga is considered very auspicious in astrology.
You will get virtue by doing these things on Nirjala Ekadashi
Donation: On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, donate matka, umbrella, water, sherbet, fruits and cooling items to the needy. According to religious beliefs, donating these things on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi is considered very auspicious. This results in the blessings and virtues of Lord Vishnu.
Worship of Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi: On this day, worship Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi as per the rituals. Offer them fruits, sweets and basil leaves. It is believed that this brings happiness, prosperity and increase in wealth.
Banana Tree Worship: Worship banana tree on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi. Offer water on it. Since Lord Vishnu resides in the banana tree, by doing this one gets special virtue and attains salvation after death.
