Jana Nayagan: Vijay’s decision on theatrical deals sparks buzz

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan was initially slated for a January 9 release but it got delayed due to censor-related issues. More than five months have passed since then, and there is still no official clarity on the film’s release date.

The makers had earlier closed both theatrical and non-theatrical deals for the film. However, latest reports suggested that the non-theatrical agreement has been cancelled. According to the latest buzz in Tamil media, Vijay has asked the makers to cancel all existing theatrical agreements and refund the distributors.

He has reportedly advised producer KVN Productions to retain the theatrical rights and release the film independently once a release date is finalized. Jana Nayagan is a social drama directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film starring Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Bobby Deol is based on Bhagavanth Kesari.
