Mumbai, September 7, 2026 (Yes Punjab News) Bhojpuri actress Aamrapali Dubey, who has entered the Bigg Boss 20 house, says the reality show is an opportunity for audiences to see her real personality beyond the characters she has portrayed on screen.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Aamrapali said the show would allow her to present an unfiltered version of herself rather than focus merely on expanding her existing stardom.
“I think Bigg Boss will give me a chance to show my real side to my audience, which they’ve never witnessed. I’ve always played certain roles and characters that were scripted. This time, it will be all real, and that’s why Bigg Boss,” she said.
Addressing the perception that entering Bigg Boss could be a way to seek wider national recognition beyond Bhojpuri cinema, Aamrapali said Bhojpuri artists already enjoy a broad audience in India and abroad.
“When you are a Bhojpuri actor, trust me, I’m saying this from my first-hand experience, you’re not just someone who’s nationally known but globally known,” she said.
She pointed out that Bhojpuri is spoken and understood in several parts of the world, including Fiji, Mauritius, the US and the UK. She also highlighted the reach of Bhojpuri films and music videos.
Aamrapali said she would particularly like her existing fans to see a different, more personal side of her through the show.
Asked what concerns her more inside the house — controversies, emotional vulnerability or the possibility that popularity may not translate into votes — she said votes are beyond her control.
“Being emotionally stable is something that is in my hands to control, and if I’m not able to do that, and if I end up being in a vulnerable position, that is more discomforting for me,” she said.
On the possibility of fellow contestants bringing up her past controversy, Aamrapali said she was no longer bothered by it.
“There’s just one controversy that I’ve ever had in my whole life, and now I’m so used to it that I don’t care about people bringing that up,” she said.
