Prior to Bihar elections 2025, RJD MLAs faced public opposition. Alok Mehta in Ujiarpur and Vijay Mandal in Dinara were surrounded for being absent for 5 years and lack of development. Videos of these incidents are going viral on social media.
Patna: As soon as the Bihar assembly elections approached 2025, the direct dialogue of leaders and candidates with the public has intensified. But this time it is not easy for some leaders to meet the public. In the latest development, two RJD MLAs Alok Kumar Mehta from Ujiarpur and Vijay Kumar Mandal from Dinara had to face sharp opposition from the public in their own areas.
Alok Mehta got protest in Ujiarpur
Former Nitish government minister and RJD MLA Alok Mehta arrived at ITI Mahadalit Tola of Raipur Panchayat of his constituency Ujiarpur on Friday to seek votes. As soon as the MLA arrived, some people were enraged. Local people alleged that they never went to the village in the last five years and heard the problems of the people, but have come to seek votes as soon as the elections are near.
Protests, some people said, “You are a stigma in the name of lantern. All made it useless. Now the election is close then got time.”
During this time some youths made a video of the protest, which is being rapidly viral on social media. In the video, the MLAs were seen folding their hands and returned from there in an uncomfortable situation. In Saidpur Zahid village of Ujiarpur assembly constituency, the MLA had to face a similar protest. The villagers said clearly that this time they will vote for the local candidate, not the external leader.
Vijay Kumar Mandal’s opposition in Dinara
Similarly, there was also resentment against RJD MLA Vijay Kumar Mandal in Dinara assembly constituency of Rohtas district. They arrived in their area for the foundation stone and inauguration of the schemes, but the villagers stopped their convoy.
The local people questioned, “Why did the road not be built in the village? Many times complained, but there was no concrete solution.” The MLA replied that there are 400 such villages in his area, but this did not reduce local resentment.
Viral video on social media
The video of both incidents is becoming increasingly viral on social media. People’s anger in Ujiarpur and Dinara showed that even during the election time, leaders are facing public displeasure.
Please tell that Alok Mehta is considered to be very close to RJD chief Lalu Yadav. In the Grand Alliance government, he has been the Minister of Land Reform and Revenue and later Education Minister. His father also represented this area. At the same time, Vijay Kumar Mandal is a RJD MLA from Dinara and is facing opposition to the inauguration of development schemes in his area.
As Bihar assembly elections are coming close to 2025, it is becoming challenging for political leaders to contact the public. The incidents of Ujiarpur and Dinara clarified that the public is keeping a close watch on the functions of the leaders and can only reject active leaders at the election time.
