Pakistan Fans Target Kranti Gaud With Sexist Abuse During IND vs PAK Clash, Video Sparks Outrage

Indian cricketer Kranti Gaud appeared to be the target of sexist and gender-based taunts from Pakistan fans during the IND vs PAK Women’s Asia Cup match , according to a video that has caused uproar.

Voices can be heard disparaging the Indian cricket player’s gender and appearance in the video that is making the rounds on social media platform X. They even constantly assert that she is a man. It was impossible to independently confirm the witnesses’ identities or the incident’s circumstances.

Social media users have criticised the incident, denouncing the derogatory comments made to Gaud during one of the most intense rivalries in women’s cricket. The alleged heckling occurred on Saturday during India’s commanding seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in their Women’s Asia Cup T20 match.

Gaud’s name and the content of her comments have been a huge talking point after the game, even though the video has sparked social media debate over how women athletes are treated.

 

 

In sports, gender-based harassment and remarks regarding the physical attributes of female athletes continue to be a persistent issue, especially in stadiums and on social media. Fans have called out the comments in the Gaud video as disrespectful, bringing the subject back into the spotlight.

 

Team India Crush Pakistan

India bowled  out for just 55 in 18.1 overs, their lowest-ever total in T20 internationals, after putting on a completely dominant performance on the pitch.

With three wickets apiece, young spinners Shree Charani and Prema Rawat spearheaded the devastation. Leg-spinner Prema claimed 3/9 from four overs, while Charani returned figures of 3/7. Shafali Verma contributed a wicket as well, and Deepti Sharma claimed 2/5. After ‘s spinners gained control, Pakistan, who had begun with confidence and reached 27 without losing, crumbled suddenly. Pakistan dropped from 27/0 to 36/6 after losing six wickets for only nine runs thanks to an incredible 78 dot balls from Harmanpreet Kaur’s bowling.

Then, despite losing three wickets, India managed to knock down the modest mark in 8.4 overs. Deepti finished not out on 12, while captain Harmanpreet finished undefeated on 18 and completed the victory with a six. With this victory, India has now won seven of their eight encounters with Pakistan in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.
