Delhi Public School Noida (Sector 122) emerged as champions of the annual Kanwar Ashish Cricket Tournament, completing a flawless and unbeaten campaign. The final, hosted at DPS R.K. Puram, saw DPS Noida Sector-122 side chase down the target of 54 set by DPS East of Kailash, winning by four wickets to lift the coveted trophy.
The Kanwar Ashish Tournament, now in its 25th year, is a prestigious inter-DPS under-7 cricket competition that draws enthusiastic participation from across Delhi–NCR. This year, 17 DPS branches fielded their young squads of Class I and II students in high-energy 10-over matches.
From the opening game, DPS Noida Sector-122’s team displayed remarkable consistency. Their batsmen showed composure under pressure, while the bowlers delivered disciplined spells to keep rivals in check. In the final, all-rounder Daiwik Shaw proved decisive—claiming two wickets and adding a vital 14 runs. His all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by former India pacer Atul Wassan and celebrated coach Rajkumar Sharma, best known as Virat Kohli’s childhood mentor. Their presence added a special touch to the young players’ achievement. Principals and coaches from both finalist schools also witnessed the thrilling finale and joined in the celebrations.
