Alcobrew distilleries India Limited, which has made its distinct identity in the premium of liquor and mid-segment, is now planning to enter the stock market. The company has completed preparations to launch its initial public offering (IPO). This IPO will be around Rs 250 crore and the company is working on a plan to make its business bigger through the funds raised from it. The company has also submitted papers for IPOs with SEBI.
The start of the company and the journey so far
Alcobre distilarios started in 2002. At that time it was a private limited company, but in 2022 it was converted into Public Limited. The company’s headquarters are in Gurugram, Haryana and its brands are especially famous among the youth. Today Alcobre has some popular liquor brands, such as golfers shots, white and blue, white hills and one peacock. Of these, golfers shots and white and blue are especially liked in the premium whiskey segment.
How much will you earn from IPO?
The company is planning to raise around Rs 258 crore through this IPO. Also, the company’s promoter Romesh Pandita is about to sell about 1.8 crore shares. Apart from this, Alcobre is also considering raising around Rs 51 crore through pre-IPO placements. If this placement is done then the size of the IPO will decrease accordingly.
Where is the alcohol and where does it go?
Alcobre’s manufacturing units are located in Solan in Himachal Pradesh and Dera Bassi in Punjab. In these two places, the entire work is done from distillation of liquor to bottling. The company is not only limited to India but its products are in demand in more than 20 countries. Alcobre’s liquor goes to the markets of Africa, Middle East and Asia. Its main export market includes Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Nepal, Oman and UAE.
Profit and business boom
According to the FY 2025 data, the company has earned Rs 1615 crore and its net profit has been Rs 69 crore. These figures are far better than in the last few years, which makes it clear that the company is constantly growing. This IPO is now being brought to take this growth further.
What is the purpose of bringing IPO?
The company will use the money received from this IPO to increase its business expansion, branding, marketing and production capacity. Along with this, the company also wants to strengthen its hold in its foreign markets.
