New Delhi: A Rapido driver gained the appreciation of many online after he waited with a female passenger late at night until her flatmate arrived. The incident came to light after the passenger shared a video of the incident on social media.
In the clip going viral, the woman told netizens that she had come home late after a Garba night. It was then that she realized that she flatmate was out and she had no keys to the house. “Hello guys, I just came back from Garba night. And, mere paas mere flat ki keys nahi hai (I don’t have the keys to my flat). My flatmate is out, I am waiting. It is almost midnight and deserted on the road. I was just waiting,” said the woman on camera.

The woman then revealed that her Rapido driver refused to leave her stranded on the road. Instead, he offered to stay with her until her flatmate returned. “Rapido waale bhaiya actually offered to stay. He said, ‘Madam, main aapke saath ruk jaata hun, jabtak aapki flatmate aati hain (I will stay with you until your flatmate comes),” said the woman in the clip.
She pointed the camera towards the Rapido driver and said, “That is just so sweet. Humanity is still there.” The video garnered the attention of many online. They showered the Rapido driver with praises. One wrote, “Not all heroes wear uniforms. Small acts of kindness like staying back to ensure someone reaches home safely remind us that humanity still exists. Respect to this rider.”
Another commented, “This kind of man deserves all the happiness and success in the world.” They wished him well and hoped for more people to follow in his footsteps. A third person wrote, “Going beyond duty, beyond service — this is what makes you extraordinary.”
