Yet again! Over 20 Delhi schools receive bomb threat emails; emergency teams on site

New Delhi: Tensions yet again gripped parts of the national capital again this morning as over 20 schools reported receiving bomb threat emails, prompting urgent evacuations, heightened security, and large-scale search operations. While no explosives have been found so far, search operation and detailed investigation are still underway.

The first alert came from Richmondd Global School in Paschim Vihar, where school staff discovered a threatening email. Soon after, similar warnings were reported at Sovereign School in Rohini Sector 24 and Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector 3, among others across North and West Delhi. The emails, according to investigators, bore striking similarities in language and timing, pointing to a possible coordinated effort to create panic.

All affected schools remain under close watch

Police teams, bomb disposal units, and fire department personnel were immediately deployed to all affected locations. Thorough sweeps of school premises were conducted, and while no suspicious objects have been recovered, the schools remains under close watch. Students present were confined to safe zones as a precaution, while access for parents was tightly regulated.

Former CM Atishi reacts to today’s incident

The situation also took a political turn today, with senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi expressing concern over the recurring threats. She posted on X (formerly Twitter), “More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through. BJP controls all 4-engines of governance in Delhi, and is yet not able to provide any safety or security to our children! Shocking!”
