Pahlaj Nihalani’s Last Rites: Famous Bollywood producer Pahlaj Nihalani passed away on Thursday, June 4. 76 year old Nihalani was suffering from liver related problem for some time. On Thursday, actor Govinda reached Mumbai’s Santa Cruz crematorium to bid farewell to his guru. During this, he looked very emotional and could not stop his tears.
Pahlaj was a strong support for the strugglers- Govinda
Speaking to the media outside the cremation ground, Govinda remembered his guru and expressed deep respect for him. Govinda said- Pahlaj Nihalani has been behind the success of many artists like me. Govinda said that Pahlaj Nihalani was not just a producer but was a strong support for the artists struggling in the industry. He said, “Pahlaj Nihalani ji was like a strong foundation for all of us. When I came into the industry, I had no money and there was a lot of uncertainty about the future. At such a time, he supported me.” Govinda further said that not only him, but also many other artistes were given the opportunity to move forward by Nihalani. According to Govinda, without his help many people might never have been able to make their mark in the film industry.
Had a unique ability to identify new talents
Govinda told that Pahlaj Nihalani had an amazing ability to identify new talents. He said, “When you look at the film industry, you will see at least a dozen such artists whose career was made because of Pahlaj ji.” He said that Nihalani had a special art of identifying the talent of people. Seeing the potential in any new face, he could give him a big opportunity. Govinda described this quality of his as nothing less than a blessing.
Tribute also paid by Sindhi community
Govinda also paid tribute to Pahlaj Nihalani on behalf of the Sindhi community and prayed for the peace of his soul. He appeared quite emotional and upset during the funeral. The paparazzi present during this time captured their emotional moments on camera.
