Sree Vishnu’s ‘Comrade Kalyan’ teaser promises a fun entertainer

Sree Vishnu is set to entertain audiences with “Comrade Kalyan”, a period film that blends humour, romance and emotion. Directed by Janakiram Marella, the film is presented by Kona Venkat and produced by Venkat Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner.

The film is scheduled to hit screens on October 9.

Set in 1992 against the backdrop of the Andhra-Odisha border, “Comrade Kalyan” follows Sree Vishnu’s character, who runs a theatre. He is a die-hard fan of revolutionary filmmaker and actor R. Narayana Murthy and mostly screens his films at his theatre.

His peaceful life takes an unexpected turn when an Odia girl enters his life. He falls in love with her, setting off a series of unexpected events that eventually push him towards Naxalism.

Despite the serious backdrop, the teaser suggests that director Janakiram Marella has chosen to narrate the story primarily through humour. Except for a few sequences related to Naxalism, the teaser maintains a light-hearted and entertaining tone. Comedy appears to be one of the film’s major strengths.
