In a rare and historic move, film exhibitors across India have added midnight shows for Saiyaara, the debut film of Ahaan Pandey, even before its release. The Yash Raj Films (YRF) project, directed by Mohit Suri of Aashiqui 2 fame, has generated exceptional buzz among audiences, prompting this unprecedented decision.
From Assistant to Lead Actor
Ahaan Pandey, nephew of actor Chunky Pandey, was previously seen working behind the camera as an assistant director
on Mardaani 2, also a YRF production. Now, the same banner has launched him as a lead actor, marking a significant leap in his career. Industry insiders credit his consistent grooming under the YRF talent wing for this grand debut.
Historic Midnight Shows for Day One
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news, calling it “historic” on social media. Traditionally, midnight shows — usually beginning at 11:55 PM — are introduced after
a film’s release, depending on audience demand and performance. However, Saiyaara has become an exception.
“The craze and demand for Saiyaara are reaching unprecedented levels,” wrote Taran Adarsh.
These midnight shows will be available from Day 1 itself, starting 18 July, and will run through the opening weekend.
Advance Booking Breaks Records
The advance booking numbers tell the story. As of 3 PM on 17 July, over 1.93 lakh tickets had already been sold for Saiyaara

Spotlight on Anit Padda
Though Ahaan is making his debut with Saiyaara, co-star Anit Padda is already familiar with the big screen. She made her debut in Kajol’s 2022 film Salaam Venky but remained relatively under the radar. Saiyaara, however, has already given her a new level of visibility, with fan anticipation building even before the release.
Verdict:
With a hit director, strong production house, star-making machinery in motion, and extraordinary advance bookings, Saiyaara looks poised to become a major box office success. All eyes are now on 18 July to see if the film lives up to the growing hype.
