Bollywood actor Meenakshi Seshadri has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane by recreating her iconic song “O Mere Khwabon Ke Shehzade” from the 1985 film Meri Jung.
Seshadri shared a reel on social media featuring her recreation of the popular romantic number. While she appeared in a striking red outfit in the original song, she opted for a black leather jacket, white top and blue jeans in the new version.
Recalling the filming of the song, Seshadri said it was shot on Mumbai’s beaches during spells of heavy monsoon rain. She described the choreography and setting as “surreal, magical, and memorable” while sharing what she called a “sweet softer recreation” of the song.
“O Mere Khwabon Ke Shehzade” was sung by Anuradha Paudwal, with music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and lyrics penned by Anand Bakshi. The song featured Seshadri in Subhash Ghai’s Meri Jung, which also starred Anil Kapoor.
Seshadri made her acting debut with Painter Babu in 1983 and rose to prominence the same year with Ghai’s Hero, in which she starred opposite Jackie Shroff. The film became a major success and established her as a leading actor.
She subsequently appeared in films including Meri Jung, Swati, Dacait, Shahenshah, Awaargi, Jurm, Ghayal, Ghar Ho To Aisa, Damini and Ghatak. Her performance in Damini remains among the most acclaimed roles of her career.
Seshadri stepped away from the film industry after marrying an investment banker in 1995 and moved to the US. After spending nearly three decades there, she returned to Mumbai in 2026 and has expressed interest in exploring meaningful opportunities in films and OTT projects.
