He assured all kinds of help from the central government if needed.

Union Home Ministry sought report on stampede from Tamil Nadu government

The Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report on the stampede from the Tamil Nadu government. On Saturday evening, 38 people were killed and 58 injured in a stampede at a rally by TVK chief and actor Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu. Many people fainted and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Sources said that the accident occurred due to overcrowding at the venue.

Senthil Balaji reached the hospital

DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu minister Senthil Balaji, who reached Karur’s Government Medical College and Hospital on the instructions of the Chief Minister, said that MK Stalin will visit Karur (Sunday) tomorrow (Sunday) to take stock of the situation and meet the victims and their families. He further said that private hospitals have been instructed not to charge any fee from the injured and to pay all necessary medical care.

Tamil Nadu’s ADGP (Law and Order) Davidson Devasiravatham told ANI, “There is a possibility that more than 30 people have died. I am going to inspect the scene.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over stampede

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over those killed in a stampede during the public rally of TVK chief and actor Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu. He wished the people injured in the incident to recover soon.
