Saahel, Jonita Gandhi Join Forces for ‘Jhoomo’, First Song from ‘Don’t Be Shy’

Prime Video’s upcoming young-adult film “Don’t Be Shy” has released its first song, “Jhoomo”, featuring vocals by Saahel and Jonita Gandhi.

Composed and penned by Ram Sampath and Devansh Vaidya, the upbeat track reflects the youthful spirit of the film with its energetic beats, playful mood and celebratory vibe.

The makers announced the song on social media, inviting audiences to groove to the track ahead of the film’s release.

Talking about “Jhoomo”, composer and lyricist Ram Sampath said the song was conceived as a celebration of the simple joy of living in the moment. He said the team wanted to create a lively and rhythmic track that felt effortless and inviting while fitting into the playful world of “Don’t Be Shy”.

Sampath also praised the cast for bringing energy and camaraderie to the song, saying their enthusiasm and chemistry added spontaneity to the track.

“Don’t Be Shy” stars Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora and Piyush Khati. The film follows Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old who believes she has her life completely planned out, only to find herself facing an unpredictable turn that sends everything spiralling beyond her control.

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the coming-of-age film is produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions and co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani of Chalkboard Entertainment.

The film also features Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik in pivotal roles. “Don’t Be Shy” is slated to premiere on Prime Video on September 25.
