Kinetic Green and Tonino Lamborghini launch luxury EV carts for global market

New Delhi: In a major move blending luxury with electric mobility, Pune-based Kinetic Green Energy has teamed up with Italy’s Tonino Lamborghini SpA to launch a new range of premium electric golf and lifestyle carts. The range was globally unveiled on July 17 in New Delhi, with high-profile dignitaries including Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Italian Ambassador Antonio Bartoli in attendance. This tie-up marks Kinetic Green’s debut into the global 4-wheeler EV segment.

The two companies aim to take on the luxury low-speed vehicle space with a line of premium, Italian-designed electric carts manufactured in India. These lifestyle vehicles are set to target a growing international market, not just for golf courses but also for resorts, airports, gated communities, and private estates.

Luxury carts made in India, designed in Italy

At the heart of this project is a clear division of strengths. Italian design cues come from the Tonino Lamborghini brand, which has a legacy in luxury lifestyle products. The electric drivetrain and production, however, are handled by Kinetic Green, which already has experience in India’s EV space.

The carts will carry the red shield logo with the bull, a nod to Tonino Lamborghini’s identity. They will be produced at Kinetic’s manufacturing facility near Pune and exported through Nhava Sheva port. The JV plans to introduce models in 2, 4, 6, and 8-seater versions, catering to varied use cases.

Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, CEO of Kinetic Green, said the collaboration will help take Indian-made EVs to a premium global audience. “We are poised to create a disruption in this segment and work towards seizing leadership, globally,” she said.

What’s under the hood?

These aren’t your average golf carts. The premium models come with:

  • Tailored MacPherson suspension for smooth rides
  • Hydraulic brakes on all four wheels
  • Torque output of 45 Nm and 30% gradeability
  • Advanced lithium-ion battery with a 150 km range and wireless charging support
  • Universal drive compatibility for both left-hand and right-hand markets

The carts also feature a smart dashboard, LED headlights, wireless phone charging, and practical add-ons like golf bag holders, onboard chargers, and foldable windshields.

Two series: Genesis and Prestige

The company has rolled out two distinct product lines:

  • Genesis Range: Highlights Italian design with classic styling
  • Prestige Range: A more futuristic and ultra-premium look

This dual-range strategy is meant to help the JV cover both conventional golf-focused applications and newer luxury lifestyle mobility demands.

Ferruccio Lamborghini, Vice President of Tonino Lamborghini, called the venture a blend of style and innovation. “Together, we have created a project that combines the best of two worlds: the elegance and identity of Italian design with the strength, efficiency, and innovation of Indian manufacturing,” he said.

Global push starting with Asia

The joint venture has set an ambitious target of being in 30 countries within five years. The initial focus will be on India, the UAE, and Southeast Asia, followed by expansions into Europe and the US. Distributors have already been appointed in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia, with more regions like Sri Lanka and Thailand next in line.

According to Kinetic Green, the global electric golf and lifestyle cart market is worth around $5 billion (approx. ₹41,000 crore). The company is aiming for annual revenue of $300 million (around ₹2500 crore) in the next five years.
