Former BJP MLA Anil Singh was attacked in Nawada, Bihar, in which his car was damaged but he escaped safely. He has lodged a complaint with the police and the investigation of the case is going on.
Nawada: Senior BJP leader and former MLA Anil Singh was openly attacked in Nawada district amidst the ongoing election stir in Bihar. The incident took place near Nardiganj area of Hisua-Rajgir Road, when the former MLA was returning from a tribute program to Patna. His car was damaged during the attack, but Anil Singh and his supporters narrowly escaped.
What is the matter
According to the information, an unknown vehicle came chasing the MLA’s car and started trying to hit the former MLA’s car and hit the car. After this, when Anil Singh’s driver and BJP workers present with him got down from the car, suddenly a large number of people armed with sticks came in front of him.
Sensing the situation, Anil Singh immediately started his car and proceeded. During this time, the attackers pierced the car continuously, but the former MLA and his supporters somehow sat in another car and moved to a safe place.
Former MLA statement
Anil Singh said, “If we stayed there for a while there, the situation could have been more serious. The attackers attacked intentionally. I immediately filed a written complaint at Nardiganj police station and demanded to register an FIR.” He further said that this attack was not only against him, but also raises questions on the democratic process and security system. He said that it is the responsibility of the administration to ensure the safety of the public and the workers.
Police action
Police of Nardiganj police station said that investigation of the case has been started. Police officials said that CCTV footage, witnesses and vehicle number plates installed in the area are being examined. He says that soon the attackers will be identified and arrested.
The attack on the former MLA has stirred political circles in Nawada. Local and state -level leaders of the BJP condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits from the administration.
