Harsh Gupta’s father sets up water puri stall

Harsha’s family was financially normal. His father Santosh Gupta, in Kalyan Kalyan rains the family by running a stall of Pani Puri. Even in such circumstances, Harsh never compromised on his studies. Admission in IIT became the way of better life, not just a college seat.

Travel from Kota Coaching Institute to IIT

After class 12, Harsh took admission in a coaching institute in Kota, Rajasthan. The preparation there brought him to IIT Roorkee. Harsh now wants to prepare for the Civil Services Exam. He scored 98.59% marks in JEE Mains and qualified for JEE Advanced. Although he did not get the IIT of his choice in the first time, but Harsh did not give up and prepared again, in the second time he confirmed his seat in IIT Roorkee. Harsh told NDTV, I got quota after failing in class 11. My family always supported me. My dream was always to take admission in IIT, especially in IIT Mumbai or IIT Roorkee.

Friends flew a joke but family support

Harsha’s father always supported him in his studies. Harsh said, my advice is not to define yourself from failing. Even if there were difficulties in class 11, I never gave up. I am my family and school’s first Iitian. However, friends initially made fun of Harsh. He said that it is impossible to get an IIT for the son of Pani Puri Wale. But Harsh did not pay attention to anyone’s words and kept on coaching and self-study 10-12 hours a day.

Harsh Gupta’s father’s hope and sacrifice

According to Harsha’s father, Santosh Gupta, I sell water, but can go to any extent for the dreams of my children. He told that Harsh has always been good in studies, but the economic situation had increased the difficulties. I withdrew money from my savings and helped him in his studies. I want my other two sons, Shubham and Shivam, also get higher education.
