Taapsee Pannu, who will next be seen in a Netflix film, Gandhari, has recently expressed her wish to do a romantic-comedy film. The actress mentioned in a recent interview that she often gets approached for serious movies and roles, and Gandhari is one of them. In a recent interview, Taapsee said that she wants to do a light-hearted romantic comedy, which she feels would be fun for her. For the unversed, the last romantic comedy which Taapsee did was Judwaa 2 with Varun Dhawan. The Pink star said that nobody imagines her in a love story, and she revealed the reason behind it.
Taapsee Pannu Wishes To Do Rom-Com
is known for doing strong women-centric films like Pink, Thappad, Saand Ki Aankh, Rashmi Rocket and so on. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Taapsee said that people have a particular image about her due to her body of work. She feels being perceived as a strong person should not automatically mean she can’t play a vulnerable or romantic character.
The actress said, “Just because I don’t come across as a fragile human being in my films or in my real life, nobody can imagine me in a love story because you’re supposed to be a certain very fragile, vulnerable-looking, feeling [person]. I don’t know what.”

Taapsee also said that the makers can’t imagine her in a comedy film as well despite doing Khel Khel Mein. People write stories where emotional stakes are very high for her. Taapsee pointed out that Manmarziyan is the proof that she can carry a love story. However, filmmakers still feel hesitant to cast her in a romantic film. She said, “If today someone goes out to pitch a love story with me, people can’t imagine it. They don’t want to greenlight it because they feel like, ‘Taapsee in a love story? It’s very difficult to imagine.’ I don’t understand.” It looks like Taapsee wants to break her image as an intense actress. She has proven herself as one of them. And now, she wants to explore vulnerable and romantic characters.
