Team India starts practice for must-win fourth England Test sans KL Rahul

New Delhi: After suffering a massive heartbreak in the Lord’s Test match, Team India is gearing up for the crucial fourth Test match against England in Manchester. Both the sides lock horns in the second-last Test of the series from July 23 and India have started practicing for the game after a two-day break.

As reported by Sports Tak, all the players from the Indian camp were in attendance at the practice session while opener KL Rahul was the only player missing from the action. The reason for the same is not known and he might have skipped the session for just an extra day’s rest.

According to another report on RevSportz, Team India will undergo a full-fledged practice session at the Kent County Cricket Ground on Thursday, July 17 before taking a break on the 18th. The report further mentions that the Shubman Gill-led side would then travel to Manchester on the 19th and the preparations for the match will begin at the Old Trafford from July 20.

Selection confusion for Team India

Ahead of the fourth and most important Test match, Team India is in a selection confusion with respect to couple of players. Starting with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is set to play only 3 Test matches in the five-match series, the selection committee is pondering over whether to include him for the next game or not.

As per media reports, Bumrah is expected to take part in the fourth Test match as that will be a do or die affair for the visiting side. A call would be taken if the team wants to go with the two-spinner formula or not. Meanwhile, the curious case of Karun Nair is another issue that needs to be taken care of. Nair, who was brought into the team with a hope, has failed to fire in all the three Test matches till now.

Though the right-hand batter has shown glimpses of some fire but has failed to convert small scores into big ones. Sai Sudharsan or Dhruv Jurel could be brought into the playing XI.
