Now Ladakh MP Mohammad Hanifa has demanded a judicial inquiry into the police firing. He says, protests had changed into clash. He has also demanded a judicial inquiry, objecting to the response of the security forces during this violence.
Let us know how much investigation is done in India to solve crimes? Why does the leader of Ladakh trust a judicial inquiry?
There are different agencies to investigate crimes in India. These include police, CID, Economic Offenses Branch to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) at the primary level. Apart from these, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is also formed by the police and the government to investigate a case. Along with this, a magistrate inquiry of some cases and a judicial inquiry or commission of some are also investigated. All these investigations depend on the nature of the crime.
1- Police investigation
At the initial level, the police investigate every kind of crime. During this time she gathers proof. It marks the suspects and also works to make law and order. Every state in India has its own police and under the judicial system, investigates and catch the accused. The charge sheet is prepared against him and produces it in the court, on the basis of which the lawsuit goes.
The police have the responsibility of assault, murder to economic crimes. If needed, the police also take help of other agencies or departments in their investigation. For example, information is given to the Income Tax Department in the matter of economic crime.

2- Special Investigation Team
Many times a special investigation team (SIT) is formed to investigate a particular case. If the police feel that selected experts are needed in the investigation of a crime, then it forms a special investment team on its own behalf. In this, different experts like cyber, surveillance, forensic are included under the leadership of an officer of the police. Many times an SIT is formed by the government to investigate a crime. In this, a team is formed by including the same department like police or experts from different departments and they investigate the whole matter.
3- Economic Offenses Branch
Many times, the Economic Offenses Wing i.e. Economic Offenses Branch is used to investigate economic crimes. It is a branch of the police department, which is given the responsibility of investigating only economic crimes. It examines the fraud in the name of Ponzi schemes, land and construction etc., scams related to the stock market etc. Offenses of more than three crore rupees should be included in such economic crimes.

4- Magistrate investigation
Many times such an investigation is conducted to find the answer to the questions arising in a case. There is usually a magistrate inquiry into a case when the police or any local investigative agency is accused of negligence or failure. In such a situation, the magistrate is handed over to find out where there has been a disturbance in the entire system.
Such an inquiry can be led by the District Magistrate to any level magistrate. Usually such an inquiry is ordered in the case of stampede etc., so that it can be known where the lapse has happened. Such investigations are also affected at times under local influence or pressure of governments or influential people.
5- Judicial inquiry
A judicial inquiry is ordered for a detailed and depth investigation of a particular case. Such cases are usually related to public or serious allegations. This investigation is done by forming a judicial inquiry commission or committee. If such an investigation takes place at the state level, then its head is a judge or retired judge of a court especially the High Court of the state.
If the central government recommends such an inquiry, then it consists of a judge or retired judge of the Supreme Court. According to the nature of the case, such investigation lasts for a long time and a lot of money is also spent.
However, such investigations have played an important role in completely turning the matter completely. That is why the leaders of Ladakh have demanded a judicial inquiry because no external pressure or effect is used in the judge level investigation.

Sonam Wangchuk raised the demand to include Ladakh in the sixth schedule.
6- Special investigative agencies
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or NIA is resorted to to investigate crimes like any national level issues, terrorism and brutal murder. The Central Bureau of Investigation usually investigates corruption, economic scams and serious crimes. For any such investigation, the state governments recommend from the Center or the central government ordered such an inquiry in a case itself. Many times such investigation is done on the order of the court.
At the same time, the responsibility of investigating other serious cases related to terrorism and security is given to the National Investigation Agency. NIA has been formed especially to deal with terrorism. Apart from this, on a large level, the Enforcement Directorate, Directorate General of Revenue etc. investigate economic crimes.
His significant contribution in investigation
Police or other investigative agencies also include forensic, ballistic, cyber and surveillance experts in their investigation according to the need after crime. In many cases, DNA testing is also conducted to establish a relationship. Lai detector i.e. polygraph test and brain mapping tests are also conducted to find out the truth of the accused or someone else. However, for this, a long judicial process has to be followed and this investigation can be done only on the order of the court.
Agencies gather scientific evidence through forensic investigation. Through ballistic examination, it is proved that the cartridge used in a crime has been run with which firearms i.e. gun etc. Matching of fingerprints and analysis of handwriting is also part of this investigation.
