Nirjala Ekadashi 2026: Ekadashi date is considered very sacred in Sanatan Dharma. On this date, a fast dedicated to Lord Vishnu is observed. There are 24 Ekadashi fasts observed throughout the year. In Adhikamas the number of these fasts increases to 26. Among all the Ekadashi fasts, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is considered very special. This fast is the hardest among all the fasts. Because during Ekadashi fast one can consume water and fruits, but this fast is kept waterless. In the year 2026, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on 25th June.
There is a religious belief that the one who observes the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi following the rules, gets the full results of all the other Ekadashi fasts. Also, by the grace of Shri Hari Vishnu, happiness remains in life. Not only this, after death one gets a place in Vaikuntha Dham. This fast is not only for religious reasons but is also considered very effective in removing the defects of the planets.
Do this work on Nirjala Ekadashi
Sprinkle Ganga water: On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, sprinkle Ganga water at the main entrance of the house and the temple. Add turmeric and saffron to that Ganga water. This work reduces negative energy. Also reduces the intensity of objects. It also calms the effects of Rahu and Ketu.
Keep water for birds: On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, arrange clean water for birds. This work increases virtues. The defects associated with Sun and Jupiter are eliminated and both these planets become strong in the horoscope.
Read Vishnu Katha: On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, the whole family together read Vishnu Katha for at least 30 minutes. By doing this the Moon becomes stronger in the horoscope. Mutual differences with family members reduce.
Keep yellow shells: On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, keep eleven yellow cowries near Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. Apply turmeric tilak on those shells. After worshiping, keep those cowries in your safe. By doing this work financial problems go away.
