Patna: A surprising love story has come to light from Bihar. Here a BPSC teacher has married his own cousin sister. But this is no ordinary marriage. For this marriage, 22 year old teacher Nayanshree first took a loan of Rs 8 lakh and got the gender change surgery of her cousin Rakhi done. When Rakhi became Rahul, both of them took seven rounds in a temple in Jamui. Nayanshree teaches in a primary school in Lakshmipur block after passing the 2025 BPSC Teacher Recruitment exam. At the same time, Rakhi’s gender change surgery was done about six months ago at AIIMS, Delhi, after which she changed her name to Rahul.
According to the report of ‘Times of India’, both of them got married at Pateshwar Nath Temple in Lakshmipur. Now videos of their wedding and subsequent rituals are going viral on social media. Family members say that both have known each other since childhood and also studied together for a long time. There was love between both of them, but no one in the house was even aware of it. Both of them are uncle’s daughters i.e. cousins. During graduation, both of them lived in the same hostel. Later, she moved to Patna to prepare for BPSC exam in 2025.
Relatives told that their love started in class 11th-12th and was going on for the last five years. According to reports, Nayanshree had taken a bank loan of Rs 8 lakh in her name for this surgery. Ward member Rajesh Kumar said, “Nayanshree was afraid that if she got the gender change surgery done, her government job might be affected. That’s why she asked Rakhi to get the surgery done.” Relatives say that Rahul’s family did not know anything about this. When he returned home in May after staying in the hospital for about a month after the surgery, everyone was still unaware.
The marriage also took place in the presence of very few people. Rahul’s sister Renu Kumari said, “She (Rahul) had left the house on May 31 saying that she would buy a mobile phone. When she returned after getting married, we came to know about this.” According to relatives, Nayanshree’s parents reached Rahul’s house on Sunday night and strongly opposed the marriage. It is alleged that during the argument they also broke the gate of the house. After this, both of them (Rahul and Nayanshree) ran away from the back door of the house. However, some family members also say that this marriage took place with the full consent of both.
