Bullet train
Preparations have been going on for a long time for bullet train in India. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Saturday that the first part of 50 km between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat will start by 2027, and the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad line will be operational by 2029. After the start of the bullet train, the journey from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will be completed in just 2 hours and 7 minutes.
The Railway Minister visited Surat station, where the work of laying the track and the first turnout is going on. He said that the progress of the project is very good. The Surat-Belimora section in 2027, Thane-Ahmedabad section in 2028, and the entire line will start by 2029. The main line is designed for speed of 320 km per hour, while the loop line will run at a speed of 80 km per hour. Modern technology is being used for safety, such as vibration -reducing systems and strong winds and earthquake facilities.
A heavy construction has been completed at Surat station. Track linking, finishing and utility work is going on. The first turnout, where the tracks are connected or separated, are fitted with new technology such as roller bearings and composite sleepers. Vaishnav said that the project would connect the economy of cities around the corridor and boost the regional development, as by high-speed rail in Japan. He also mentioned the planning of four more bullet train corridors mentioned in BJP Manifesto.

Surat’s bullet train station is going to be quite cool and convenient for passengers. Here all the facilities like waiting lounge, nursery, toilets, and retail shops will be available. There will be lifts and escalators so that everyone can easily be up and down. There will be special arrangements for the elderly, disabled and young children with young children, such as special signboards, information giving information and public announcement system, so that there is no problem.
