The ruling NDA has played a big bet to help the women’s vote bank. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have jointly launched the Mahila Employment Scheme. Under this, 10 thousand rupees will be transferred directly to every woman’s account.
In addition, the government has made several announcements for Anganwadi servants, Asha workers, livelihoods and female teachers. Nitish Kumar believes that if women are self -sufficient, family and society will be strong, and this is the key to the development of Bihar.
Grand Alliance
The opposition is also not far behind. RJD and Congress together have announced the ‘My-Bahin Yojana’. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 2500 has been promised to needy women every month, free health facility for the family and land in the name of women to landless families.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said at Patna rally that “women have always given strength to the politics of change, but the BJP-JDU government has only given them only promises and cheating.” At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav said that “women are not just vote banks, but the axis of Bihar’s development.”
Women’s vote bank above ethnic and religious boundaries
The women’s vote bank is also special because it is not tied to the caste boundaries. According to the data, Yadav women in Bihar 14.46%, Scheduled Caste Women 19.6%, Muslim women 17.8%, while women from Rajput, Bhumihar, Brahmin and other classes are also in large numbers.
