IND vs AUS: How Team India lost the won match, read the full story of the last three overs

The Indian cricket team faced Australia in the third T20 match on Tuesday at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Team India’s eyes were on winning this match. Team India also had its eyes on series victory. Victory in this match would have given India an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. India had taken a 2-0 lead in the series by winning the first two matches. To win the series, India had to win this match and it seemed that the Indian team would hoist the victory flag in this match, but this match was lost. In the last three overs, Glenn Maxwell and Matthew Wade snatched the victory from Team India and kept Australia in this series.

Wade won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Team India scored 222 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. For India, opener Rituraj Gaikwad played a brilliant century and scored unbeaten 123 runs. But Gaikwad’s century was overshadowed by Glenn Maxwell’s century. Maxwell scored unbeaten 104 runs and led his team to victory.

Story of last 3 overs

Team India seemed to be winning the match. Australia needed 49 runs to win in the last 18 balls i.e. three overs. These runs are enough but the Indian bowlers could not save these runs and Team India had to lose the match. Prasidh Krishna bowled in the 18th over. Six runs came in this over. But in this over, Suryakumar missed the important catch of Wade. Although this catch was quite difficult, if it had been caught then the match could have come under India’s control. Suryakumar Yadav gave the 19th over to Akshar Patel. Wade hit a four on the first ball of this over. Two runs came on the second ball. A four came on the third ball also. The fourth ball was a no ball because Ishan Kishan caught the ball in front of the wicket. Due to which the next ball was a free hit. Wade hit a six on this ball. One run came on the fifth ball. On the last ball, Ishan Kishan left the ball and Australia got four runs bye.

Australia needed 21 runs in the last over to win. Suryakumar handed the ball to Prasidh Krishna. Wade hit a four on the very first ball. One run came on the next ball. Maxwell hit a six on the third ball. Maxwell hit a four on the fourth ball. Maxwell hit another four on the fifth ball and with this he completed his century. Two runs were needed on the last ball and Maxwell gave victory to Australia by hitting a four on this ball. Maxwell hit eight fours and as many sixes in his innings. Captain Wade scored unbeaten 28 runs in 16 balls with the help of three fours and one six.

the wait increased

This victory of Australia has increased the wait of Team India and its fans. Victory in this match would have won the series for India. But Australia did not allow this to happen. Now India will have to wait for the fourth T20 match to win the series which will be played in Raipur on 1st December. This match will be played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Here Australia will try to equalize the series.
