Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh has filed an FIR against his aunt Gaytri Devi, two cousins and four others in Aligarh, alleging that his grandfather’s will was forged in 1997 to deprive his late father, Captain Baldev Singh, of his inheritance. Singh claimed his grandfather, Thakur Harender Pal Singh, was critically ill when the disputed will was allegedly executed and his signature was forged. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The Josh actor said he has collected evidence to support his allegations and has recorded his statement with the police.
Chandrachur Singh alleges grandfather’s will was forged
As per PTI, Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh has alleged that his grandfather, Thakur Harender Pal Singh, was critically ill when the disputed will was allegedly executed in 1997. According to his complaint, Singh’s grandfather, a prominent landowner of Jalalpur village on the outskirts of Aligarh, was not in a condition to sign legal documents at the time.
The actor has accused his uncle Ganga Singh and other family members of forging his grandfather’s signature on the will. He alleged that the document was subsequently used to deprive his father, late Captain Baldev Singh, of his inheritance rights. Singh further claimed that his father was not present in Aligarh when the alleged will was executed. He also stated that another uncle, Puniya Pratap Singh, had died before their grandfather. The actor alleged that a large portion of the prime properties covered by the disputed will was later sold over the years.
Speaking to reporters on Friday evening, Singh said he had collected sufficient evidence to substantiate his allegations. After filing the FIR, he also recorded his statement with the police.

The had come to light publicly last year when Gaytri Devi rejected Chandrachur Singh’s allegations as false and accused the actor of attempting to falsely implicate her. She had maintained that the disputed will was genuine.
Singh’s father, Captain Baldev Singh, was a former Congress MLA from Aligarh city and died a few years ago. The latest complaint names Singh’s aunt Gaytri Devi, two cousins and four others. Police have registered a case at Rorawar police station and launched an investigation into the allegations. The authenticity of the disputed will and the signatures in question will now be examined as part of the probe. The allegations made by Singh are yet to be established.
Meanwhile, Chandrachur Singh is best known for his acclaimed performance in Maachis (1996), which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He went on to star in films like Josh and Kya Kehna (2000), before making a comeback with the series Aarya (2020), starring opposite Sushmita Sen.
